This Sunday, we will explore the relationship of Narcissism, Depression and the Bible–seen through the lens of Jeremiah’s side-kick, Baruch. Our main passage will be Jeremiah 45. In this passage, we see Baruch’s depression and how it is related to his narcissism.

From a biblical perspective, the link between narcissism and depression lies in the spiritual and emotional emptiness that results from a life focused on self rather than God and others. Narcissism’s roots in pride and its consequent isolation can lead to depression, characterized by profound feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness. The Bible offers a path to healing through humility, repentance, and community, guiding us towards a relationship with God that fulfills and restores. By embracing these biblical principles, one can find hope and healing from both narcissism and depression.
